Pizza de ensalada César

Suelo ir con frecuencia a un pequeño restaurante cercano a mi casa, que aunque se caracteriza por tener un menú compuesto por numerosos platos, cada vez que voy pido lo mismo de siempre: una pizza de ensalada César.
Desde la primera ocasión en que la probé, me fascinó esa combinación de masa crujiente bañada por el delicioso aderezo característico de esta ensalada. Además, la frescura de la lechuga hace que no sienta mucho remordimiento después de terminar el plato, algo que me suele suceder cuando como una pizza.
Esta receta se puede preparar de diferentes maneras:
– Como base puedes usar una masa para pizza tradicional o una hecha con harina de trigo.
– También puedes elegir entre usar un aderezo casero para ensalada César o ganar tiempo empleando las mezclas que venden en el supermercado. En esta oportunidad, usé uno que me gusta bastante, el Romano Caesar Dressing de Trader Joe’s.
Igualmente, puedes servir la pizza acompañada de tiras de pechuga de pollo o pavo, y cubrirla con una buena cantidad de crutones de pan tostado y queso parmesano.
La pizza de ensalada César es ideal para comer en cualquier momento, aunque siempre me ha parecido fabulosa la idea de disfrutarla en el patio, junto a una copa de vino, durante las noches de verano. Por esta razón me atreví a hacerla en casa, con resultados más que satisfactorios. ¿Te animas a probarla?
- Masa para pizza (integral o tradicional)
- Queso Mozzarella o cualquiera que se derrita fácilmente
- Lechuga Romana cortada en tiras
- Aderezo para ensalada César
- Crutones / crotones
- 1 pechuga de pollo o de pavo
- Queso Parmesano al gusto
- Calienta el horno a 350°F o 175°C.
- Estira la masa para pizza sobre una superficie enharinada, hasta que lograr el grosor deseado.
- Acomoda la masa estirada en una bandeja o molde para horno, y cúbrela con rodajas de queso mozzarella.
- Hornea la masa por unos 10 minutos o hasta que obtenga un color tostado y el queso se haya derretido.
- Mientras tanto, mezcla la lechuga con el aderezo, los crutones y un poco de queso parmesano.
- Retira la masa del horno y esparce la ensalada sobre su superficie.
- Acomoda las tiras de pechuga de pollo sobre la pizza y agrega más queso Parmesano si lo prefieres.
- Sirve inmediatamente.
